Support the Child and Develop the Student

Welcome to Smethport Area Elementary School, home of the Hubbers! We serve the families of students from pre-kindergarten through 6th grade in Smethport, Pennsylvania.

Please take some time to get to know our school and our staff members, and be sure to contact us if you have any questions.

Back to School 2020-2021

School starts on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. We are excited to welcome students back to school for classroom instruction. Please read the superintendent's letter regarding the SASD return to school options for students. We are so pleased to have the opportunity to start school on August 26, and we hope to see everyone back in class or online with us at Smethport Schools!

Once you have selected your return to school option for each of your children, be sure to communicate that with us via the online survey. We have provided a copy of the survey for your review.

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We will be celebrating Halloween a little different this year. While room parents and/or volunteers are not permitted in the building, faculty and staff have agreed to try their best to make the day fun-filled for the students. If you are sending in a treat to share in your child’s room, please remember it must be store-bought and packaged. We will permit costumes, but simple costumes usually work the best. Students will be getting themselves ready with minimal assistance available. The mask rule still applies for Halloween. Please make sure that your child’s costume either includes a mask or your child has a regular mask or face shield.

Our Halloween parade will be live-streamed. We will publish this link on our Smethport Elementary Facebook page, our school website, and your child’s Seesaw app. Please join the live stream at about 1:45 p.m. on Friday, October 30 to watch the parade.

Stay healthy and safe, and have a spooktacular Halloween!

Sincerely,

Ms. Kristin Zona
